Ahhh... the age old question! But I won't traumatise
you with a deep philosophical investigation into it! Instead...
let's see...
I am Sri!
I run around in fields of wildflowers singing
silly songs and... <scratch that>... apologies...
I'm an artist and designer
by trade, and have recently begun to incorporate writing
into my work too, both for self and professionally (as you can probably
tell from my website :)
Find out more about my skills and interests by
taking a look around!
A good question, and yes I will attempt to answer
it.
I was born in Indonesia as my mother was doing
field work for her PhD there at the time (she's an anthropologist
- not to be confused with the bone picking variety, the archaeologist).
When I was one we went to California, at two we
went to England, at three, Holland, at four back to England for
a brief stint and by five we were living in Brisbane, Australia.
Yikes that makes me an acronym (as opposed
to an anacronym)...
a TCK
(Third Culture Kid).
I grew up in Brisbane, went to school, tried to
be happy there, but eventually the big world outside called me back
into the wild.
I went back to London, where my father lived,
and stayed there for 11 years. Then I moved to live for a year in
the UNESCO World Heritage protected town of Visby,
in Sweden (apparently the best preserved medieval town in Scandinavia!),
to work in a computer games research studio.
I've been in Brisbane now for a few years, but
will spread my wings again soon to fly south, this time to Melbourne.
